The overview of Biomedical Science Major
Medical Science
The major of medical science is a full-time master’s & Doctoral
program for the graduates from science and engineering colleges.
To foster biomedical researchers who can play a pivotal role in
medical science after graduation by acquiring new knowledge and research techniques from the biomedical field and participating
in disease centered study, the following educational objectives
have been set
To achieve the educational goals of the biomedical science major, UUCM's specialized basic-clinic convergence educational curriculum, U-BEST (UUCM-Biomedical Education and Scientist Training) is offered. U-BEST aims to realize convergence education based on the four main values; Integrative, Interactive, Specialized, and Globalized curriculum. Biomedical science major concentrates on training translational medical professionals leading to the future by practicing systemized major curriculum with the four main values and expanding open network and research sources for practical translational researches.

1) B-Biomedical Science Training to Develop Creative Leadership

Training Biomedical scientists with creative leadership to conduct specialized translational research

2) E-Enhanced Integration of Basic Research and Clinical Application

Establishing a training system for practical translational and biomedical scientists capable of drawing results of basic research based on U-BEST curriculum and apply the results from lab to clinic.

3) S-Synergistic Research Collaboration through Basic-Clinic Research Network

Building cooperative basic-clinic convergence research network for maximizing synergistic research.

4) T-Translating Knowledge to Solution for the Future Medicine

Creating future values through drawing basic research findings for the future medicine, securing original technology and technological commercialization.

Educational objectives and
goals are to enhance
01 Creative thinking and researcher quality by acquiring
the latest trends and expertise continuously through
training and seminars concerning biomedical science
related basic and applied learning.
02 Research capability by acquiring experimental
skills and problem solving skills needed for basic,
translational, and clinic researches, and learning
the latest research methods using state-of-the-art
equipments.
03 Field-oriented practical competitiveness to draw
innovative discoveries and application through
the convergence education linking the industry-
university cooperation system.
04 A sense of duty in contributing to human health
by devoting to the research & development of
biomedical science on the basis of strong
ethics as a researcher.
